The gospel does not invite us to perform our way into closeness with God. In Christ, distance has been answered by union. From that shared life, the prophetic becomes less about proving our spirituality and more about participating in the heart, wisdom, and love of Jesus.
Our relationship with God begins with His initiative, not our achievement. Christ has joined His life to ours. Identity, righteousness, belonging, and spiritual gifting are received as gifts before they are ever expressed through action.
Hearing God is not meant to grow from anxiety, pressure, or spiritual competition. A peaceful heart, childlike trust, and confidence in God’s goodness create room for relational communion with the Holy Spirit.
Prophetic impressions are not above discernment. They are tested by Scripture, the character of God revealed in Jesus, and the fruit they produce. Healthy prophecy should strengthen, encourage, comfort, and draw people toward Christ.
The goal is not simply more revelation. The goal is Christ formed in us. Prophecy should help people know they are seen, reveal the heart of God, cultivate maturity, and make us more present to the people God has placed in front of us.
